Questions about the estimator
Why a band and not a price?
Because the price depends on the exact layout, the walls and the pipes, which only the visit sees. A medium kitchen with one long run is cheaper than the same length round three corners with a tall larder. The quote after the visit is fixed.
What decides small, medium or large?
The length of units more than the floor area: up to about eight metres is small, fourteen is medium, beyond that or with an island is large. Carys counts it at the visit, but the description next to each will put you close.
Does the band include appliances?
No, because people spend anything from nothing (keeping theirs) to £8,000. We supply them at 15 per cent under retail and fit them free; a good basic set is about £2,600.
Can I get it cheaper?
Laminate instead of quartz is the biggest saving; open shelves instead of wall units is another; keeping the sink where it is saves a day of plumbing. Carys will show you where the money goes and design to a budget if you give her one.
