We booked a day and the quote on the website said £300 for the room and £150 for Siân, and that is what the invoice said. She was in an hour before us getting the drums right, we tracked five songs live in the room, and the rough mixes were in our inbox before we got back to Grangetown. It sounds like us, only better.
Reviews
What people say.
Six reviews, one for each thing we do, including the four-star one. Collected by an independent platform after a session; we do not choose which appear, and we answer every one.

Two episodes every other Tuesday for two years. Three cameras, four mics, Dylan watching the levels so we can talk, and the edited episode and the cut-down clips by ten the next morning. Our audience doubled when we moved here from a spare bedroom, and we put that down to the sound.
I sent one song first, as they suggested, and Owain told me honestly that the drums would mix but the vocals should be re-recorded. We did the vocals in the booth in an afternoon and mixed ten songs over five days in the mix room. Best money I have spent on music.
We direct from our office in London on the remote link, the voice is in the booth in Cardiff, and the files arrive to spec within the hour. We have done about forty sessions this way. It is easier than when we used to drive to a studio in Soho.
Good room, good backline, £12 an hour for our Thursday slot and somewhere to leave the kit. Four stars because the room gets warm on a summer evening with five of us in it; they have since added a second fan and said a proper unit is coming. The free half hour with an engineer before our recording saved us a day.
Eleven hours of finished audio in Welsh, recorded in four-hour blocks over a fortnight. The booth is so quiet I could hear my own stomach, and the engineer caught every mispronunciation I did not. Delivered to the publisher's spec and accepted first time.
About the four stars
The rehearsal room now has proper cooling, fitted in September.
The Lowlights were right that five people and two amps in a soundproofed room make it warm by July. A second fan was a stopgap; a quiet air-handling unit with its own baffled duct went in this September, and the room now holds twenty degrees with a band in it. It cost more than the fan and less than losing a Thursday band.
