Bathrooms

Six things we do, each priced.

All six

01

Full bathrooms

The family bathroom, stripped back to the walls and the floor, re-planned if it helps, and fitted by one team: bath or shower or both, a wall-hung basin and toilet, a heated rail, tanking, tiling, lights and a fan.

From £7,800 including VAT, supply and fit, with half-height tiling; full-height tiling usually adds £1,200.

02

En-suites

A shower room off the main bedroom, often in a space that was a cupboard or a corner: a shower tray or a level floor, a compact wall-hung toilet and basin, good extraction, and storage built into a stud wall.

From £5,900 including VAT, supply and fit; full-height tiling usually adds £900.

03

Wet rooms and accessible bathrooms

A level-access shower in a fully tanked room, for anyone who wants one and for anyone who needs one: grab rails into solid fixings, a fold-down seat, a raised toilet, slip-resistant tiles, and the Disabled Facilities Grant explained honestly.

From £9,500 including VAT, supply and fit, fully tiled.

04

Shower upgrades

Taking the bath out and putting a walk-in shower in its place, or putting a proper thermostatic shower and a screen over the bath you have. The smaller jobs we are asked for most, done to the same standard as a whole bathroom.

Bath out and a walk-in shower in its place from £3,900; a thermostatic shower and screen over an existing bath from £1,250.

05

The design visit

An hour with Siân in the room itself: measured, the pipes and the soil stack found, a layout drawn and three options priced, before anything is chosen in the showroom. £95, refunded against a bathroom you order.

£95 for an hour at your house, refunded against a bathroom you order from us.

06

Aftercare and the guarantee

Every bathroom we fit is guaranteed for five years on our workmanship, in writing, with the products under their makers' guarantees. At twelve months we come back, check every joint and reseal anything that has moved.

Included in every bathroom we fit: five years on our workmanship, a free check and reseal at twelve months.

How we fit

Four things true of every bathroom.

A programme, day by day

Before we start you get the programme: strip-out on day one, first fix on two and three, boarding and tanking, tiling, second fix, silicone. If a day moves, Siân rings you the evening before.

Tanked where water goes

Every shower area, wet room floor and bath wall is tanked with a waterproof membrane before it is tiled. Grout is not waterproof, and a leak behind tiles is the most expensive thing in a bathroom.

Certified electrics

Lights, fans, heated rails and underfloor heating are fitted by a registered electrician, and you get the certificate. Bathrooms are a special location in the wiring regulations, with reason.

Dust sheets to the front door

A protected route from the door to the bathroom, the strip-out bagged and taken the same day, and the house hoovered each afternoon. You live in it while we work; we act like it.

  • 860+bathrooms fitted in Penarth and the Vale since 2012
  • 10working days for a typical family bathroom
  • 5year guarantee on every fit, in writing
  • 4.9average rating from 290 reviews

Wet rooms and access

A third of our wet rooms are grant-funded. We explain the grant honestly.

The Disabled Facilities Grant is paid by the council towards adaptations someone needs to live safely at home, up to £36,000 in Wales. It starts with the council's occupational therapist, who writes the specification; the council decides eligibility and approves a quote. We quote to the specification, wait for approval, and never start before it, because work started early may not be funded.

What people say.

Family bathroom

The programme said ten days and it was eleven, because they found a rotten joist under the bath, showed us, priced it and fixed it before the floor went down. The toilet worked every night. Siân rang the evening before every day that changed. It is the nicest room in the house.

Helen and TomPlymouth Road, Penarth
Wet room

My mother's wet room was funded by the grant. Siân explained every stage, waited for the council's approval without pushing us, and Mark fitted the rails where the occupational therapist had marked them, to the centimetre. Mam can shower on her own again.

GwynethSully
En-suite

An en-suite in the loft conversion, fitted inside the builder's programme without holding him up once. The design visit found that gravity would work if the shower went at the high end, so no pump. Worth the £95 just for that.

Questions people ask before they visit

How much does a new bathroom cost?

Our packages, supplied and fitted including VAT: a family bathroom from £7,800, an en-suite from £5,900, a wet room from £9,500 and a cloakroom from £3,200, with half-height tiling. Full tiling and extras such as underfloor heating are added on the estimator, which gives a band and the days on site.

How long will we be without a bathroom?

A family bathroom is about ten working days. If it is your only one, the toilet is reconnected every evening and you have a shower back within the first week; the programme shows which days.

How far ahead are you booked?

The current lead time to a fit start date is on the estimator page, worked out from the time of year: usually five to eight weeks, longest in the autumn. Products are ordered when you pay the deposit, and the start date is fixed then.

Do you help with the Disabled Facilities Grant?

We explain how it works, quote to the occupational therapist's specification, wait for the council's approval, and work with its surveyor. The council decides eligibility; the wet rooms page explains the stages.

What is the deposit?

25% to order the products, the rest on completion when you are happy with it. No stage payments in between for a standard bathroom.

Do you only fit bathrooms you supply?

Mostly, because the guarantee is simplest that way. We will fit products you supply, and the guarantee covers our workmanship but not the products.

Start with an hour in the room. Then the showroom.

The design visit is £95 and comes off the bathroom when you order: Siân measures the room, finds the pipes and the soil stack, and sends a drawn layout with three priced options within a week. Or price a package on the estimator first.
