What we collect, why, how long we keep it and how to ask us about it.
What we collect
When you use the booking form we collect your name, phone number, email address and postcode, a date if you give one, what you are thinking of and roughly when, and anything you write. The form also records the time it was sent and your IP address, used only to block automated submissions. The estimator collects nothing: it is worked out from the address bar and not stored.
When we design and fit a bathroom we keep the measurements, photographs of the room before and after, the drawing, the quote, the order, the programme, the invoices and the electrical certificate. For grant-funded work we also hold the occupational therapist's specification and the council's approval, which may describe a health need; we keep these only for the work and do not share them beyond the council.
Why we use it
- To answer your enquiry and price the work (our legitimate interest in replying to you).
- To perform the contract: planning and doing the work, invoicing, and handling the guarantee or a complaint.
- To keep accounting records, which the law requires.
- To ask for a review a week after the job, which you can decline by replying.
Who sees it
Siân, Mark, Dewi and Gareth, and nobody else. Suppliers receive the delivery address for your products. For grant work, the council's occupational therapist and surveyor see the quote and the specification. The review platform receives your email address once, to send the invitation. Before-and-after photographs appear on the projects page only with your written permission and never with your house number. We never sell or share your details.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not become jobs are deleted after twelve months. Records of a fitted bathroom are kept for six years after the guarantee ends, so that a claim can be dealt with; accounting records for six years as the law requires. Health information from grant work is deleted when the council has signed the work off, unless you ask us to keep it.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct or delete it, object to our using it, or ask us not to send the review invitation. Email studio@penarth-bathroom-company.co.uk or write to us at the address below. We answer within a month. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
