Siân & Mark

The people who design it, fit it.

Siân draws every bathroom and is your one contact from the first visit to the twelve-month reseal. Mark leads every fit, with Dewi on the plumbing and Gareth, the registered electrician we have used since 2012, on the electrics. Four people, no subcontractors you have not met.

The people

Siân Mathias, a woman in her mid-forties with shoulder-length dark hair and glasses, in a sage green jumper, holding a tile sample board in a bathroom showroom

Siân Mathias

Founder and designer. The design visits, the drawings, the showroom, and your one contact

Trained as an interior designer and spent ten years designing bathrooms for a national retailer, where she watched good drawings fitted badly by subcontractors she had never met. Opened the showroom on Windsor Road in 2012 with Mark and one rule: the people who design it, fit it. Lives in Penarth, swims at the Lido from May to September.

Mark Hopkins, a fitter in his early fifties with short grey hair and a dark green polo shirt, holding a tile spirit level in a half-tiled bathroom

Mark Hopkins

Lead fitter. Strip-out to silicone, the tanking, the tiling and the wet rooms

A plumber by trade and a tiler by choice, Mark has fitted bathrooms in the Vale since 1994 and leads every job we do, with Dewi on plumbing and Gareth on electrics. He set out the tanking standard the company works to, trained with the grab-rail maker on pattress fixings, and will not leave a job until the silicone line is one bead from end to end.

  • 860+bathrooms fitted in Penarth and the Vale since 2012
  • 10working days for a typical family bathroom
  • 5year guarantee on every fit, in writing
  • 4.9average rating from 290 reviews

How we fit

Four standards behind every tile.

Tanked before tiled

Every wet wall and every wet-room floor gets a waterproof membrane. Grout is not waterproof, and a leak behind tiles costs more than the bathroom.

Rails that hold a person

Grab rails go into pattress boards fixed behind the tiles, not into plugs in plasterboard. Mark trained with the maker on it.

A programme you can read

Day by day, before we start, with the evenings the toilet works marked on it. If a day moves, you hear the evening before.

One bead of silicone

From end to end, in one pass, with the bath filled with water first so the joint is set at its widest. It is the detail people notice.

A bright bathroom showroom on a Penarth street with full-size bathroom sets, a wall of tile samples and brass taps on display

The showroom

Six bathrooms full size on Windsor Road, and taps you can turn.

Two family bathrooms, an en-suite, a cloakroom, a wet room you can try sitting down, and a shower wall with the four valves we fit side by side, plumbed in so you can feel the difference. The tile wall has every tile we stock in a full-size panel, grouted in three colours, because a tile on its own tells you nothing.

Opening hours and parking

Start with an hour in the room. Then the showroom.

The design visit is £95 and comes off the bathroom when you order: Siân measures the room, finds the pipes and the soil stack, and sends a drawn layout with three priced options within a week. Or price a package on the estimator first.
