A heated drying room, a locked bike store and Dafydd's routes
Walkers and cyclists
Llandovery sits between the Black Mountain, the Cambrian Mountains and Llyn Brianne. We have a heated drying room for boots and kit, a locked bike store with a stand, pump and hose, early breakfasts, packed lunches and Dafydd's routes.

Dafydd rode and walked these hills for twenty years with the mountain rescue team before we opened, and he knows which routes work in which weather. Most of our guests come for one or the other.
The drying room is the old post office strongroom, with a dehumidifier and racks for boots, jackets and wet kit, and it has everything dry by morning. The bike store is across the courtyard, locked, with a wall rack for six bikes, a work stand, a track pump, a hose for the mud and a box of the spares people forget. E-bikes can charge overnight.
For walkers, the folder in each room has Dafydd's favourites, from the climb to Llyn y Fan Fach under the Black Mountain escarpment to the Cambrian Way through the town. For cyclists, the Llyn Brianne loop starts at the door, and the Heart of Wales line takes bikes north and south if you want a one-way ride.

Questions about walkers and cyclists
Can you take us to the start of a walk?
Often, yes: Dafydd will drop you at Llanddeusant for the Black Mountain or at the Usk reservoir for £15 if he is free. Ask when you book.
Is the Llyn Brianne loop hard?
About forty-five miles with some steep climbs around the dam, on quiet roads. Fit cyclists ride it in four hours; it is one of the best rides in Wales.
Pick a night, see which rooms are free.
The rooms page shows every room's rate and whether it is free on the night you choose, with the two-night weekend rule worked out. Then book with the form or ring Ffion on 01550 496 0920; nothing is charged until you leave.
