All four rooms for up to nine, from £520 a night with breakfast

Exclusive use

Take the whole house for a family gathering, a walking group, a cycling club or a small celebration: all four rooms for up to nine, breakfast for everyone, the breakfast room as your sitting room in the evening, and the drying room and bike store to yourselves.

The Old Post Office on Broad Street, Llandovery: a cream Georgian front with a red shopfront and multi-pane window, a dark front door and a red wall post box

Groups who book the whole house tend to come back the same weekend every year: a cycling club for the Brianne loop, three sisters and their families for a birthday, a walking group who do the Black Mountain in every season.

All four rooms sleep nine between them: three doubles or twins and the Postmaster's Room with its third bed. The breakfast room becomes your sitting room in the evening, with the woodstove lit and a long table, and the drying room and bike store are yours alone. We can arrange a supper on the first night, a cawl and a pudding, or a table for nine at one of the pubs.

The rate is £520 a night for the house with breakfast for everyone, two nights minimum, three at bank holidays. A dog can come in the Sorting Office as usual. We stay in our flat at the back and are there if you need us.

Questions about exclusive use

Can we bring food and drink in?

Yes, for the evening in the breakfast room, and there is a fridge for you. We ask that you are quiet after eleven, for the neighbours on Broad Street.

How far ahead should we book?

Spring and autumn weekends go six to nine months ahead. Midweek and winter are easier.
