Brush-outs, de-matting, lion clips, with Nia
Cat grooming
Long-haired cats brushed out, de-matted or clipped into a lion cut by Nia, who grooms cats only on Wednesday mornings when there are no dogs in the building. No sedation, no cages, a quiet room.

Cats are not small dogs. They are groomed on a different day, in a different room, by someone who has done the course, and they are never put in a cage next to a barking spaniel.
Nia grooms cats on Wednesday mornings, when the dryers are off and the building is quiet. Most long-haired cats (Persians, Ragdolls, Maine Coons and the long-haired moggy) need a brush-out and a sanitary trim every couple of months; the ones who have got away from it need the mats taken out, by clipper rather than scissors, because cat skin tears. A cat matted to the skin gets a lion clip and grows a new coat in three months.
We do not sedate cats; if a cat cannot cope with handling, we stop and suggest the vet. Nails are clipped, ears checked and the bath is optional and rare. Bring your cat in a carrier with a towel from home in it, and plan to be back within the hour.

Questions about cats
Will you groom an aggressive cat?
We will try, once, in a short session, with the owner nearby. If a cat is frightened to the point of being dangerous to itself we stop and recommend a groom under sedation at the vet, which is kinder than a fight on a table.
Book a groom.
Tell us the breed, the size and what you would like, and we confirm a slot by text within a working day. Nervous dog, first groom or a cat: say so and we book the quiet room.
