Full groom

Our cockapoo used to shake in the car park at the old place. Bethan did two puppy-style sessions with him even though he was two, and now he pulls to get through the door. Teddy trim is exactly the photo I showed her, every time.

Bath and tidy

Golden retriever, three bin bags of undercoat a year on the sofa. Rhys does a de-shed every eight weeks and the difference is unbelievable. He also refused to clip her and explained why, which the last groomer never did.

Hand stripping

Border terrier hand-stripped properly for the first time in his life at four years old. Took two visits as Bethan said it would and the coat has come back harsh and the right colour. Worth every penny over a clip.

Cat grooming

Nia groomed our ragdoll, who hates everyone, on a quiet Wednesday morning with no dogs about. Brushed out, two mats gone, nails done, home in fifty minutes and not a scratch on either of them.

Full groom

Great groom and lovely people. Four stars because the price went up £10 for matting on our labradoodle, which they did ring about first, and in fairness showed me the mats afterwards. We now brush him. Lesson learned.

Puppy intro

Puppy intro sessions for our cavapoo at fourteen weeks. Two short visits, lots of treats, home with a lesson on which brush to buy. First proper groom at six months and she fell asleep on the table.

About the four stars

The matting charge. We rang first, and it still cost a star.

Dylan is right that the price went up by £10. His labradoodle had mats behind both ears and under the collar, which is thirty minutes of careful work on a dog that does not enjoy it, and we rang him before we started rather than surprising him at the till. We also showed him the mats and the brush that stops them, and he now brushes. That is the outcome we want, and we would rather have the review up than pretend matting is free.
