Ordered online, by phone or in the box; ready in 48 hours
Repeat prescriptions
Order a repeat prescription online through the NHS Wales App, by the prescription line between 10am and 4pm, or by putting the slip in the box at reception. It is ready for your chosen pharmacy within two working days. Medication reviews with the practice pharmacist.

Nine thousand people, several thousand repeat prescriptions a month: the system has to be simple and it has to be reliable. Order at least two working days before you run out, by whichever of the three routes suits you, and it goes electronically to the pharmacy you have nominated.
The quickest route is the NHS Wales App or the online form, which shows your repeat list and lets you tick what you need; reception can set the login up for you in five minutes with ID. The prescription line, 029 2018 0245, is answered by the prescriptions team between 10am and 4pm. The paper slip from your last prescription can go in the box inside the front door at any time we are open. We do not take prescription requests over the main reception line, because mistakes happen when they are rushed.
The practice pharmacist, Nia, reviews every repeat list at least once a year and will ring to talk through anything that has changed, could be simplified, or needs a blood test first. If a medicine has been stopped or changed at hospital, tell us, because hospital letters can take a fortnight to reach us. Running out is never a reason to go without: ring, say so, and we will sort an emergency supply.

Questions about prescriptions
Why do you need 48 hours?
Every request is checked by a clinician against your record before it is signed, which is how errors are caught. Two working days gives the time for that without anyone running out. Order when you open your last week's supply, not your last day's.
Can I collect it from the surgery?
Prescriptions are electronic and go straight to the pharmacy you have nominated, which saves a trip. If you have no nominated pharmacy, or want to change it, tell reception or do it in the app.
What happens when I go on holiday?
Order a week before you go and tell us the dates; we can issue a longer supply for a trip of more than a month. Do not leave it to the day before, because a review may be due first.
Need help today? Ring from 8am.
Sixty same-day slots every weekday, a clinician ringing you back the same morning. For anything that can wait, request a routine appointment online and reception replies within a working day. When we are closed, ring 111.
