Gareth leads a crew four days a week and does the storm calls. Lowri surveys every job and writes every price. Behind them, two crews of two and a yard full of timber.
Gareth started Ironside with a pickup and a post-hole digger in 2009, after twelve years fencing for a Newport contractor. He still leads one of the two crews four days a week and does the storm calls himself. Ask him about arris rails and you will be there a while.
Lowri does every survey and every written price, and runs the diary. Before Ironside she was a site engineer on road schemes in the valleys, which is why she will not price a fence line she has not walked with a probe. She is also the one who rings the neighbours.
The crews
Each crew has a lead fitter with at least eight years on the tools. The same crew stays with your job from first post to last board.
