Fencing
Storm repairs
Fences blown down or leaning after a gale: made safe within two days, repaired properly within the week.

Make-safe visit £65, taken off the repair
After a named storm the phone rings for a week. We keep the next five working days clear of new fences every time the Met Office issues an amber wind warning for South Wales, so storm jobs go first.
If a fence is down across a path or hanging over a neighbour's garden, we come out within two working days to make it safe: panels lifted and stacked, posts propped or cut down, the gap closed with temporary panels if you have a dog. That visit is £65, and it comes off the repair.
The repair itself is usually new posts rather than new panels. A fence goes over because a post has rotted at ground level, so we change those posts for concrete, re-use the panels that survived and replace the ones that did not. Photographs and a written description go to you the same day, which is what your insurer will ask for.
Fences are often not covered by home insurance for storm damage, or only when the rest of the house is damaged too. Check your policy before you claim; we will give you the paperwork either way.
What is included

What it costs
A make-safe visit is £65, taken off the repair bill; most storm repairs are two to four bays at £120 to £160 a bay with new posts. The fence estimator works out a range for your length, height and style; the survey sets the fixed price.
Questions about storm repairs
Is a fence covered by my insurance?
Often not for wind alone. Many policies exclude fences and gates unless the house is damaged in the same storm. Read the storm section of your policy, then ring the insurer.
Whose fence is it?
Check the title plan from the Land Registry (£7 online): a T-mark shows who owns the boundary. If it is shared, we can price it for both households.
Can you come today?
In a big storm, no, and anyone who says yes to everyone is not telling the truth. We give every caller an honest day and keep to it.

Lowri measures the line, probes the ground and checks the boundary, and the written price follows within two working days. It does not change once you have signed it.
