Aluminium bi-folds, sliding patio doors and French doors to the garden
Bi-folds and patio doors
Aluminium bi-fold doors that fold right back to open a room to the garden, slim sliding patio doors, and French doors in uPVC or aluminium. Level thresholds, toughened glass and proper drainage, measured and fitted by our own teams.

Bi-fold doors are the reason half the extensions in Cwmbran got built. Folded back, three or four panels open almost the whole wall to the garden; closed, they are a wall of glass. The thing that makes them work for twenty years is not the glass, it is the rollers, the hinges and above all the threshold, which has to drain the rain away from a level floor.
We fit aluminium bi-folds from the same Newport fabricator as our aluminium windows, in any RAL colour, with a low or flush threshold and a drainage channel under it where the patio is close to the floor level. A traffic door lets you use one panel as an ordinary back door without folding the rest.
If you want the view more than the opening, a sliding patio door has slimmer frames and bigger panes for the same width, and slides on stainless rollers that do not need adjusting. French doors in uPVC or aluminium are the budget option for a narrower opening. All of them are measured on the survey and take about five weeks.

Questions about bi-folds and patio doors
Bi-fold or sliding door?
Bi-fold if you will open the whole wall in summer; sliding if you mainly want the view all year, because the frames are slimmer when closed.
Do I need a lintel?
For a new or widened opening, yes, and Building Regulations sign-off; we work with your builder. A like-for-like replacement does not.

Kerry measures every opening with a laser, checks the lintels and the cills, shows you the colours and the glass, and writes a fixed quote at your kitchen table. The quote builder gives you the band before she comes.
