Getting here
Frogmore Street
The office is at number 12, the heather-painted door between the bookshop and the bakery, at the top of the street near the war memorial. Drop in on a weekday; there is always a kettle on.
Parking
Short-stay parking in the Castle Street and Byefield Lane car parks, both four minutes away. Blue badge holders can park on Frogmore Street for up to three hours.
By bus and train
Buses from the villages stop at the bus station on Monmouth Road, five minutes' walk. Abergavenny station is fifteen minutes on foot or a short taxi ride.
Access
Step-free from the street, with a ground-floor meeting room, a hearing loop at the desk and an accessible toilet. Ring ahead and we will bring the chairs with arms.
We come to you
First visits are always at home, so we can see the house, the stairs and the bathroom, and meet the person where they are most comfortable.
Out of hours
The office number is answered by an on-call senior carer every evening, night and weekend for clients and families. For a medical emergency, ring 999.
Lost, or want to check we are in? Ring 01873 496 0900.

The name
Cartref means home.
It is the Welsh word for home, and for the feeling of being at home, which is what we try to protect. Most of our carers live in Abergavenny and the villages under the Sugar Loaf and the Blorenge, so they know the lanes, the chapels and the people.
Talk to Bethan or Tomos about care.
Ring, send the enquiry form or drop into Frogmore Street. We will talk through what is needed, explain the costs and the council's part honestly, and arrange a free first visit at home, usually within a week.
