Food cost
What it costs, by the week.
The price on the sack tells you very little. Give us the weight of your animal and a food, and we will work out the rest in the same way we do at the counter.

Your animal
Example: a 20 kg dog on Everyday
The 6 kg bag of Cwm Everyday
Chicken and rice for most adult dogs.
£5.80 a week
About 255 g a day for a 20 kg dog. The bag costs £19.50 and lasts 23 days.
Hold me a bag| Bag | Price | Lasts | A week |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2 kg | £7.50 | 7 days | £6.69 |
| 6 kg | £19.50 | 23 days | £5.80 |
| 12 kg | £33.00 | 47 days | £4.91 |
The 12 kg is cheaper by the week, at £4.91, but it lasts 47 days, and food is best used within six weeks of opening. So we would sell you the 6 kg.
A starting point, not a prescription. Feed the animal in front of you, and if you can no longer feel its ribs, feed a little less. This is not for puppies, kittens, or a pregnant or ill animal: please ask us or your vet.

About the sums
How do you work out the daily amount?
From your animal’s weight, using a standard scale that allows for big dogs needing less per kilo than small ones, and the rate on the bag. It is a starting point. Feed for the animal in front of you, and if you can no longer feel its ribs, feed a bit less.
Why do you recommend a smaller bag when the big one is cheaper?
Dry food stays at its best for about six weeks once a bag is open. A sack that takes your terrier five months costs less a week on paper, but the last of it will be stale and he will know. We show you the cheapest bag that lasts under six weeks, and the others in the table.
Do these sums work for a puppy, a kitten or a pregnant animal?
No. They grow fast and need much more, and the amounts on the sum would be wrong. Ask us, or your vet.
What about an overweight dog?
Enter the weight your dog should be, not the weight it is. Then ask your vet, because a sudden diet is not a good idea and there may be a reason for the weight.
Bring the dog in. We will weigh it for nothing.
Or put in a weight and a food, and see which bag, how long it lasts and what it costs a week.
