The green front on Hannah Street.

Look for the buckets of chews on the pavement. Five minutes from the station, and dogs on leads are very welcome.

A small pet shop with a deep green shopfront on a Welsh valleys street, with sacks and a bucket of chews on the pavement outside

Getting here, access and hours

The shop

19 Hannah Street, Porth CF39 9PY, on the main shopping street, with the green front and the buckets of chews outside. Dogs are very welcome, on a lead, and there is water by the door.

By train

Porth station is on the Treherbert line, about five minutes’ walk from the shop. Come out of the station, go down the hill towards the town and turn along Hannah Street.

By bus

Buses from Pontypridd, Tonypandy, Tonyrefail and Maerdy all stop within a couple of minutes of the shop. A big sack on a bus is a bad idea: ask about the van.

By car

Short-stay parking is on the streets behind Hannah Street, and there are pay and display car parks in the town. Tell us at the counter and we will carry a sack to your car, or hold it while you bring the car round.

Access

There is a small step at the door, and a ramp behind the counter that Dylan will fetch. The aisles are narrow for a wheelchair, so ring ahead or knock on the window and we will bring things to you.

Hours

Monday to Saturday 9am to 5:30pm, and Sunday 10am to 2pm. The van goes out on Tuesday and Friday mornings, so Rhian is alone in the shop until lunchtime on those days.

The van goes out on Tuesday and Friday mornings, so it can be slow on the phone until lunchtime on those days. Leave a message and we will ring back.

Bring the dog in. We will weigh it for nothing.

Or put in a weight and a food, and see which bag, how long it lasts and what it costs a week.
