Services

Six ways up.

All six, with prices

Domestic scaffolding

Scaffolds for houses: front elevations for painting and windows, rear and side scaffolds for extensions, and full wraps for re-roofs, put up in a day for most homes.

A two-storey house front from £650

Chimney scaffolds

Scaffolds built on the roof around a chimney stack, from roof saddles or from the ground, for repointing, flashing, new pots and removing stacks.

A chimney scaffold on a two-storey terrace from £690

Roofing and gutter access

Eaves-level scaffolds with edge protection for re-roofs, gutters, fascias and soffits and solar panel installs, with loading bays and hoists where needed.

Eaves access along one elevation of a two-storey house from £650; both elevations from £1

Commercial scaffolding

Designed scaffolds for shop fronts, schools, chapels, flats and industrial units, with sheeting, pedestrian gantries, loading towers and weekly inspections recorded.

Priced from a site survey; commercial scaffolds designed where the guidance requires.

Temporary roofs

Scaffold-framed temporary roofs sheeted in shrink-wrap or sheeting, so a re-roof, a loft conversion or fire damage repair can go on in Welsh weather.

A temporary roof over a typical semi from £2

Scaffold towers

Aluminium mobile towers for decorators, gutter jobs, ceilings and gable ends, delivered and erected by a trained tower erector, hired by the week.

A tower to a 4m platform from £120 a week; delivery and erection £95.

Safety

Inspected every seven days.

The law expects a scaffold to be inspected by a competent person before it is first used, every seven days after, and after anything that could have affected it, such as a gale. We do exactly that, sign the tag at the ladder each time, and keep the record. A ladder guard goes on every domestic scaffold so it cannot be climbed when nobody is working.

  • A handover certificate on day one
  • Carded scaffolders on every crew
  • Only we alter it; ring and we come the same or next day
How we keep it safe

How we work

Four things that always happen.

Up on the day we say

You get a date when you accept the quote and a call the afternoon before. If the weather stops us, we ring that morning with the next date.

Built to the guidance

Every scaffold is designed to the industry guidance for its use, tied in properly and handed over with a certificate. No shortcuts on boards or guardrails.

Neighbours told first

For terraced streets we put a note through the neighbours' doors before we arrive, and keep the pavement passable.

No surprise hire bills

Hire beyond the agreed weeks is at the weekly rate on the quote. We ring before it runs on, so you are never charged without knowing.

House front

Up in a day for the painters, neighbours told the day before, pavement kept clear and the licence sorted. Lowri rang a week before the four weeks ran out to ask if we needed longer.

Temporary roof

Loft conversion through the wettest October I remember, and the house stayed dry under the temporary roof. Checked after every storm without us asking.

On your street

Neighbours told, pavement kept clear.

In a terrace, the lorry is the hardest part. We put a note through the neighbours' doors the day before, unload behind barriers, keep a safe walkway past the scaffold, and light it at night when it stands on the pavement.

Questions people ask first

How much does scaffolding cost?

A two-storey house front is from £650 including four weeks' hire, inspections and taking it down; a chimney scaffold from £690; a full wrap from £1,650. The hire estimator works it out for your house.

How long can I keep it?

Four weeks are included. After that it is a weekly rate on the quote, and we ring before the four weeks run out.

Do I need a licence?

If the scaffold stands on the pavement or road, yes, from Neath Port Talbot Council. We apply for it and put up the lights and barriers.

How quickly can you put it up?

Usually within one to two weeks of accepting the quote, sooner for urgent repairs. Pavement licences need about ten working days.

Is the scaffold inspected?

Yes: a handover certificate when it goes up, then every seven days and after storms or alterations, with a signed tag at the ladder.

Do you work with my builder or roofer?

Yes. We talk to them directly about lifts, loading bays and dates.

Get a quote after a visit.

Craig looks at the house or building, talks to your builder or roofer if you like, and sends a written quote with four weeks' hire, inspections and the licence in it. Most domestic scaffolds go up within two weeks.
