What we collect, why, how long we keep it and how to ask us about it.
What we collect
When you use the survey form we collect your name, phone number, email address and postcode, what you are thinking of, when, a date if you give one, and anything you write. For a job we also hold your address, drawings and photographs of your home, your neighbours' names for party wall notices, and certificates. The form also records the time it was sent and your IP address, used only to block automated submissions.
Why we use it
- To survey, quote for and build your loft (our contract with you).
- To apply to building control, the council and adjoining owners on your behalf (our contract with you, and a legal obligation).
- To keep accounting and guarantee records (a legal obligation).
- To ask once for a review, and whether a visitor may see your loft, either of which you can decline.
Photographs of your home
We take photographs for drawings and for our records. We publish one only if you agree, without your address.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not go ahead are deleted after a year, since people often come back. Job records and drawings are kept for twelve years, because of the guarantee and the limits for building claims. Accounting records are kept for six years.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct or delete it, object to our using it or withdraw consent. Email survey@up-top-lofts.co.uk. We answer within a month. You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Cookies
This website sets a session cookie only when you send the survey form, to limit repeat submissions. The checker runs on the server and stores nothing. There are no analytics or advertising cookies. The map on the find-us page is loaded from Google, which may set its own cookies.
