Things to use every day

Homeware

Stoneware mugs, candles, tea towels and jugs. The sort of present people still use in five years.

Speckled stoneware mugs, a teal glazed jug and a folded linen tea towel on a wooden shelf

We have a simple test for homeware. Would you be happy to find it in the back of the cupboard five years from now, still chipped from your own use?

Mugs are thrown by two potters, one in Llandeilo and one in Abergavenny, and they are heavy enough to keep your tea warm. Candles are poured in Penarth in soy wax with scents chosen by someone who does not like strong candles. Tea towels are screen printed in Cardiff on proper linen union.

Handmade things vary. If you need six mugs that match exactly, tell us, and we will find you six that are at least good friends.

  • Gift wrap for £3

Questions about homeware

Is the stoneware safe in a dishwasher?

The mugs and jugs are. The raku pieces are not, and they say so on the label. Ask if you cannot see one.

What if it arrives broken?

Tell us and send a photograph within 14 days. We replace it or refund it. It happens about as often as you would expect with pottery in the post.

Number 8, about halfway along the arcade.
