The back room seats sixteen behind a curtain with its own bar hatch and no hire fee against a minimum spend; the whole bar is yours on a Monday, when we are otherwise closed, for forty seated or sixty with the stools out.
Sixteen people at one table behind a curtain, with their own hatch to the bar and their own bartender, is the right size for most of the parties people ask us about. Forty is the most we will ever have in the building.
The back room is a long table under copper lamps on a green velvet banquette, curtained off from the bar but with a hatch so you have a bartender of your own for the evening. There is no hire fee; you commit to a minimum spend on drinks and food and the room is yours from 6pm until we close. Most groups choose a short set list of four or five cocktails so the drinks come out fast, and a snack board or the full small-plates menu priced per head.
The whole bar is available on Mondays, when we are otherwise closed, for forty seated or sixty with the stools out: the jazz trio can be booked, a masterclass can open the evening, and the menu is yours to shape with Nia. Weddings, launches and birthdays are the usual. Huw handles every hire enquiry personally and the booking page has the form; a deposit of £200 holds the date and comes off the final bill.

Prices and booking
Back room: no hire fee, minimum spend £600 on Friday and Saturday, £350 Sunday to Thursday. Whole bar, Mondays: minimum spend £2,400. A set cocktail menu and snacks are priced per head. Questions about hire
Can we bring a cake or decorations?
A cake, yes, and we will plate it. Decorations that do not stick to the walls or involve glitter, yes. Balloons stay in the back room. No confetti; it gets in the ice.
