Two hours, three drinks, six to ten people, Sunday afternoons

Cocktail masterclasses

Two hours behind our bar with one of our bartenders: three classics made by you from the ground up, the ice, the stir and the shake explained, and a sheet to take home. Sunday afternoons, six to ten people, £55 each.

A cocktail masterclass: four guests at a copper bar with shakers and jiggers while a bartender demonstrates

Most people who make cocktails at home make them badly for three reasons: warm glass, bad ice and no jigger. Two hours fixes all three and sends you home with three recipes you can actually repeat.

You stand behind the bar, not in front of it. Leo or Nia take you through the kit, the ice (why ours is clear and yours is cloudy, and what to do about it), the jigger, the stir and the shake, and then you make three classics yourself from start to finish: usually a Daiquiri, an Old Fashioned and one of your choosing from the list. You drink what you make. Snacks come out halfway because three cocktails in two hours on an empty stomach is a mistake we have watched people make.

Public classes run on Sunday afternoons from two until four, six to ten people, booked on the events page. Private classes for a group of six to ten (hen parties, birthdays, work teams) run on any afternoon we are closed, and the back room can be added for the evening after. Vouchers are available at the bar and online and last a year.

Questions about masterclasses

Do I need to know anything?

No. Most people have never held a jigger. The class is built for beginners and the bartenders are good at making the people who have "done this before" feel welcome too.

Book a table, or take the back room.

Forty seats, so Thursdays to Saturdays need a booking. The back room seats sixteen with no hire fee against a minimum spend; the whole bar is yours on a Monday. Eighteen and over after 5pm.
