What's on

What's on, and when.

The week has a shape: early doors on weeknights, the trio on Thursdays, a masterclass on Sunday afternoons. Around that, a distiller once a month, records once a month, and the December list.

A cocktail masterclass: four guests at the copper bar with shakers and jiggers while a bartender demonstrates

Vinyl Sunday

Someone's records on the turntable from 4pm, Nia's choice of a roast-day drink at £9, no bookings, no fuss.

December

The winter list, and the Christmas back room

The December list lands on the first. The back room books out for December by October; the form is on the hire page.

This month's Thursdays

Rhodri, Mari, and the third chair.

The residents are Rhodri Lewis on piano and Mari Hughes on double bass, most Thursdays for eight years. The third chair this month: a tenor sax from Bristol on the first, a trumpet from the Royal Welsh College on the second and third, and a singer we are not allowed to name yet on the last. The line-up is posted here and on Instagram a month ahead; it changes when a tour comes through.

A jazz trio with double bass, piano and trumpet playing in the corner of the bar

Sunday afternoons, behind the bar.

Two hours, three classics made by you, snacks halfway and a recipe sheet to take home. £55 a person, six to ten people. Vouchers last a year.
