Something on most nights

Quiz and music nights

The Tuesday quiz at half eight, open mic on Fridays and a band every Saturday at nine, from folk to loud rock covers, never a cover charge.

A three-piece band with an acoustic guitar playing on a low stage in the corner of the pub

Tuesday is the quiz, Friday the open mic and Saturday a band. All three have been running longer than most of the people who now win the quiz.

The quiz is six rounds, one of them pictures and one music, set by a rota of regulars so nobody gets too good at guessing the question-setter. Teams up to six, £1 a head, the pot to the winners and a meat raffle at half time.

Friday open mic starts at nine. Rhys runs the desk and there is a house guitar and a keyboard. Saturdays bring a band at nine: a rotation of six local bands from sixties covers to Welsh-language folk. The what’s-on page shows which band is on this Saturday and the next.

Yes. Tell Carol and she will put you with a team that is short.

Can my band play?
