What we collect

When you use the booking form we collect your name, mobile number, email address and postcode, what you are asking for and how you would like it, a date if you give one, and what you write. The form also records the time it was sent and your IP address, used only to block automated submissions. The free dates tool sends your dates in the address of the page and stores nothing.

Why we use it

To answer you and arrange your cat’s stay (taking the steps you asked us to take).
To send a daily photograph, or to ring you or your vet about your cat (legitimate interest, and what you asked for).
To keep the boarding records our licence requires (a legal obligation).
To keep accounting records (a legal obligation).

We do not send marketing unless you have asked for it, which you can stop at any time by replying or telling us. We do not sell or share your details with anyone for marketing.

Who sees it

Your vet, if your cat needs one. The council inspector, who can ask to see the boarding register. Our card terminal provider, for payments. Our website host, for the form. Our accountant, for the accounts. None of them may use your details for anything else.

How long we keep it

Booking records are kept for the period that the boarding licence requires, and for at least two years. Webcam links end on the day you collect your cat, and nothing is recorded. Accounting records are kept for six years because the law requires it.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it, by emailing hello@the-cat-lodge.co.uk or asking us in person. We answer within a month. If you are not satisfied you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Cookies

The website sets one cookie, a session identifier, only when you send the form, so that we can stop the same browser sending it twice in thirty seconds. It holds nothing about you and expires when you close the browser. There are no analytics or advertising cookies. The map on the Find us page is embedded from Google Maps, which may set its own cookies when it loads.
