The office, the ranks and the pick-up points
The office
3 Gelliwastad Road, Pontypridd CF37 2BW: the black-and-yellow frontage opposite the library, two minutes from the station and the bus station. Walk in to book, pay a bill, pick up a receipt or set up an account; the dispatch desk is behind the counter and the kettle is on.
The rank
Our cars work the rank on Taff Street by the market and the one outside the station. If you want a Taff Cars car specifically, ring or use the app: the dispatcher sends the nearest one and tells you the colour and the driver's name.
Pick-up points
Station forecourt (the taxi bay on the Sardis Road side), the Market Street rank, the Royal Glamorgan main entrance, Ynysangharad Park gates on Bridge Street, and the University by the Hirwaun Street entrance. Tell the dispatcher which and the driver knows it.
Paying
Card or contactless in every car, cash if you prefer, or pay in the app before the car arrives. A receipt is printed in the car or emailed. Account customers give the reference and pay nothing on the day.
Hours
Cars 24 hours a day, every day of the year, with five on the road through the small hours and nine on a Friday and Saturday night. The office on Gelliwastad Road is open Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm and Saturday mornings; the night line rings through to the dispatcher.
Lost property
Hand it to the office or ring; every car's jobs are logged, so we usually know whose it is within an hour. Phones are the commonest and are kept in the safe until collected. We do not post items but will put them in a car to you for the local fare.
On Gelliwastad Road and cannot see us? Ring 01443 496 0700; the dispatcher will talk you to the door, or send a car to where you are.
