Suits, jackets and shirts cut for you by Gareth, a Savile Row-trained cutter, two fittings, from £895
Made-to-measure suits
Two-piece suits, jackets, trousers and shirts cut to your measurements by Gareth, who spent eleven years in a Savile Row workroom: twenty-two measurements, your choice of cloth, a baste fitting and a forward fitting, ready in six weeks. Suits from £895, shirts £95.

A made-to-measure suit is the one garment most people will ever own that fits them exactly. It costs less than people expect, takes longer than they would like, and lasts twenty years.
The first appointment is an hour with Gareth: twenty-two measurements, how you stand, which shoulder drops, where you carry your wallet and phone, and what the suit is for. Then the cloth: about two hundred bunches from Yorkshire and Scottish mills, from a hard-wearing twill for the office to a lightweight wool and mohair for a summer wedding. Gareth will tell you which will wear, which will crease, and which will look its best in ten years.
The suit is cut in the workroom from a pattern drafted for you, not adapted from a block in a factory. The first fitting, about three weeks later, is a baste fitting: the jacket held together with white tacking thread, so the balance, the shoulders and the length can be moved. The second, about two weeks after that, is a forward fitting with the sleeves on and the buttonholes marked. Most suits need one more small adjustment after it, then they are yours.
From order to collection is usually six weeks. A third of the price is paid when you order, the rest when you collect. Gareth keeps your pattern, so the second suit is quicker, needs one fitting and costs £100 less.

Questions about made-to-measure
Is this bespoke?
Close to it. Bespoke on Savile Row means a pattern cut by hand and three or four fittings; ours is cut by hand from a pattern drafted for you, with two fittings. It is not machine-made from a block, which is what most "made to measure" is.
Can I bring my own cloth?
Yes, if there is enough: three and a half metres of 150cm cloth for a two-piece. The price drops by the cloth cost.
Do you do wedding party suits?
Yes, with a three-month lead time for a groom and up to five others, and a discount of 10% on each suit after the second.
Bring it in, or book a fitting.
Most alterations and all dry cleaning need no appointment: come to the counter on Glebe Street and we pin it there and then, with the price and the ready-by date on your ticket. Bridal, made-to-measure and evening fittings are booked.
