What we collect, why, how long we keep it and how to ask us about it.

What we collect

When you use the booking form we collect your name, phone number, email address and postcode, what you need and when, a day if you gave one, and anything you write. The form records the time it was sent and your IP address, used only to block automated submissions. The price list and the bridal planner store nothing; your choices are in the page address and nowhere else.

When you hand something in we record your name and phone number against the ticket, the job, the price and the date. For made-to-measure we keep your measurements and pattern; for bridal fittings, the wedding date and the notes from each fitting; for curtain visits, your address.

Why we use it

  • To do the work and give it back to the right person (our contract with you).
  • To ring or text you about your garment: ready early, delayed, or not collected.
  • To keep your measurements and pattern so the next suit is quicker (our legitimate interest, and you can ask us to delete them).
  • To keep accounting records (a legal obligation).

Who sees it

The people in the shop. Our insurer if something is lost or damaged. The review platform receives your email address once, a week after collection, and you can decline by replying. We never sell your details.

How long we keep it

Booking enquiries that do not become work are deleted after six months. Ticket records are kept for a year after collection; measurements and patterns until you ask us to delete them or for five years after your last order; accounting records six years.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to our using it. Email shop@stitchandpress.co.uk. We answer within a month. You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
