Dovetails, and doors that stay shut
Sideboards
Long, low oak sideboards and dressers with hand-cut dovetailed drawers, turned knobs and doors that close with a magnet rather than a mechanism.

Open a drawer and look at the corner. That is the quickest way to judge any piece of furniture, including ours.
Our drawers have hand-cut dovetails at the front and back, oak sides and a solid base that slides into a groove so it can move with the weather. They run on oak, waxed, the way they have for three hundred years, not on a metal runner which wears out in fifteen.
Doors are framed and panelled so that the panel moves inside its frame. A cheap solid door warps; a framed one does not. They close on a small magnet in the top rail, with no soft-close mechanism to fail.
The two-door is 120 centimetres wide and the four-door 220, and both are 45 deep and 85 high. The Welsh dresser takes the two-door base and adds a three-shelf rack, in two pieces for the stairs.

Questions about sideboards
My floor slopes. Will it sit level?
Very few old Welsh floors do not. We pack and level it on delivery, and we leave the packers hidden under the feet.
Can I have shelves instead of doors?
Yes. Any combination is made to order, with no extra charge for shelves.
Measure the room. We will tell you the truth about the table.
The room planner draws it to scale in a few seconds, or Mari will come out with a tape for £45, taken off the price of the piece.
