The alcove, the awkward corner, the long kitchen
Made to measure
Anything in oak built to your room: alcove cupboards, long farmhouse tables, window seats and awkward corners. Mari measures, Rhodri draws, and the price comes before the work.

Old Welsh houses do not have a straight wall in them. That is the reason we have a workshop.
Mari comes out and measures with a laser and a long tape, and photographs the room. Within a fortnight you get a to-scale drawing and a fixed price. You pay a third to begin, a third when it is ready to be seen in the workshop, and the rest when it is in.
The usual things are alcove cupboards around a chimney breast, a table for a long and narrow kitchen, a window seat with lift-up lids, and a dresser that has to clear a low beam. We also take on a small amount of repair work for pieces we did not make.
Allow eight to fourteen weeks from drawing to delivery. The oak has already been in the barn for at least two years, so there is no waiting for timber unless you want a particular board, in which case come and choose one.
What you get
- A home visit and a laser measure, within 40 miles
- A to-scale drawing and a fixed price within a fortnight

What it costs
A measure-up is £45, taken off the piece. Most commissions run from £900 to £6,000. The price list has the rest, and the room planner gives you the next delivery run for your area.
Questions about made to measure
How far do you travel to measure?
Forty miles for £45. Beyond that we add the mileage, or you can measure with our sheet and we will check it when we deliver.
Can you match an existing piece?
Bring a photograph and, if you can, a drawer. We can usually match the shape, but old oak is a darker colour and new oak takes decades to catch up.
Measure the room. We will tell you the truth about the table.
The room planner draws it to scale in a few seconds, or Mari will come out with a tape for £45, taken off the price of the piece.
