Four sizes in stock, any size to order
Dining tables
Solid oak tables with through-tenoned legs, seating four to ten, in stock in four sizes. Check the size in your room before you travel.

The table is the one piece people keep for fifty years, and the one they most often buy too big. Start with the room.
Our tops are 38mm solid oak, boards chosen and jointed by eye so that the grain runs along the table. The legs are 80mm square and go right through the frame on a pegged tenon, and you can see the end grain of the joint on the top rail. It is not there for looks. It is how the leg stays tight in a house with a wood-burner and a damp winter.
A table needs room around it: about 45 centimetres for a person sitting, and about 45 more for somebody to walk behind them. That means 90 centimetres from the edge of the table to the wall if you want to get round it with a dish. The room planner works that out for your room in a few seconds.
We finish in a hard wax oil, which you can repair yourself. A hot pan will mark it, and a little sanding and a wipe of oil will take the mark out. Try that with a lacquered table.

Questions about dining tables
What size for six people?
Our six-seater is 180 by 90 centimetres. That gives each person 60 centimetres of elbow room. It needs a room of about 3.6 by 2.7 metres to get around comfortably. Use the room planner for yours.
Do you make extending tables?
Yes, to order, with a loose leaf stored in a separate bag. Add £420 and about eight weeks.
Measure the room. We will tell you the truth about the table.
The room planner draws it to scale in a few seconds, or Mari will come out with a tape for £45, taken off the price of the piece.
