Stacks of oak boards drying in an open-sided barn

The wood

Knots stay in. Colour changes.

Oak is not a uniform material, and we are not trying to make it look like one. You will get knots, the odd ripple and some medullary ray. New oak is pale and honey-coloured, and it darkens slowly with light over the decades.

If you want the board for your table to be a particular one, come and choose it from the barn.

Measure the room. We will tell you the truth about the table.

The room planner draws it to scale in a few seconds, or Mari will come out with a tape for £45, taken off the price of the piece.
