What we collect, why, how long we keep it and how to ask us about it.
What we collect
When you use the form we collect your name, phone number, email address and postcode, which department you are asking about, a date if you give one, and anything you write. For tool hire we hold your address and a note of the deposit; for trade accounts your business details. The form also records the time it was sent and your IP address, used only to block automated submissions.
Why we use it
- To answer your question, hold what you asked for, or deliver it (our contract with you).
- To keep accounting records (a legal obligation).
- To record hire, and who holds a restricted key pattern, where the lock maker requires it.
How long we keep it
Enquiries are deleted after six months. Hire records are kept for two years, accounting records for six years.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct or delete it, object to our using it or withdraw consent. Email counter@nuts-and-bolts-hardware.co.uk. We answer within a month. You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Cookies
This website sets a session cookie only when you send the form, to limit repeat submissions. The paint calculator and the on-today panel are worked out on the server and store nothing. There are no analytics or advertising cookies. The map on the find-us page is loaded from Google, which may set its own cookies.
