Paint calculator
How many tins, worked out.
Add up all your walls, give us the height, and we will do the sums. It assumes a smooth, painted wall and leaves the windows in, so you have a little spare.

Your room
A room 4m by 3m has 14 metres of wall. Measure round the room, add up, and leave the doors for the last box. We have started you with that.
What is in the sums
The numbers we are using.
12 m² a litre
Typical for emulsion on a smooth, painted wall. Bare plaster and rough walls use more, sometimes a third more.
1.9 m² a door
The size of a standard door. We leave the windows in, because that gives you a little spare.
Three tin sizes
£14, £26 and £42 for 1, 2.5 and 5 litres. It tries every mix and picks the cheapest, not always the smallest.
Walls only
Ceilings, woodwork and masonry are separate jobs. Tell us and we will work them out at the counter.
Want it mixed before you come?
Tell us the colour and the tins, and we will have them on the counter with a dab on the lid.
