What we collect, why, how long we keep it and how to ask us about it.

What we collect

When you use the quote form we collect your name, phone number, email address and the postcode of the job, a date if you give one, what you would like tiled and roughly when, and anything you write. The form also records the time it was sent and your IP address, used only to block automated submissions. The calculator and the patterns page collect nothing: they are worked out from the address bar and not stored.

When we survey and do a job we keep the measurements, the written quote, the tile order (with the batch numbers, in case you need more later) and the invoice. We photograph Victorian floors before and after restoration; those photographs are only published with your written permission and never with your house number.

Why we use it

  • To answer your enquiry and price the work (our legitimate interest in replying to you).
  • To perform the contract: planning and doing the work, invoicing, and handling the guarantee or a complaint.
  • To keep accounting records, which the law requires.
  • To ask for a review a week after the job, which you can decline by replying.

Who sees it

Lowri and Jamie, and nobody else. The tile supplier receives the delivery address if we order your tiles. The electrician who connects underfloor heating receives the address and your phone number. The review platform receives your email address once, to send the invitation. We never sell or share your details.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not become jobs are deleted after twelve months. Quotes, measurements, tile orders and invoices are kept for six years, as the law requires for accounts and so that a matching batch can be traced if you need more tiles later.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct or delete it, object to our using it, or ask us not to send the review invitation. Email hello@grout-and-about-tiling.co.uk or write to us at the address below. We answer within a month. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Cookies

This website sets a session cookie only when you send the quote form, to limit repeat submissions; it expires when you close the browser. There are no analytics or advertising cookies. The map on the sample-room page is loaded from Google, which may set its own cookies when it is displayed; the page works without it.
