Calculator

Width, height, tile. Boxes out.

Put in the width and height of the wall or floor in metres, pick the tile and the pattern, and the calculator adds the wastage, counts the tiles, rounds up to whole boxes, and works out the adhesive, the grout, the labour and the days. Order every box at once, from one batch.

Questions about the calculator

Why round up to whole boxes?

Because tiles are sold in boxes, and because a box bought later may come from a different batch with a slightly different shade. Order every box at once and keep the spares for repairs.

How do I measure a wall with a window?

Measure the whole wall and do not take the window off: the cuts round the reveal use more tiles than the window saves. For an L-shaped floor, work out each rectangle separately and add the boxes.

Can I give centimetres?

Yes: any figure over 30 is read as centimetres, so 240 means 2.4 metres.

Is the labour a quote?

It is our published rate for the area, tile and pattern. The survey checks the wall or floor underneath, which is where the extras come from, and the written quote replaces it.

Measure the wall, count the boxes, then a survey.

The calculator turns your width and height into tiles, whole boxes, adhesive and grout bags, the labour and the days for your tile and pattern. The quote form takes two minutes; Lowri measures every wall and floor at a free survey and the written quote follows within three working days.
