From £34 an hour in a block, from your door, with a written plan
Lessons from scratch
Never driven before, or a few lessons years ago: an introductory two-hour lesson for £60, then a plan written against the DVSA syllabus, two-hour lessons from your door with the same instructor and the same car, the app to track it, and a test booked when you are ready and not before.

Most people pass in between thirty and forty-five hours with an instructor and some practice in between, and the two things that decide where in that range you land are the instructor being the same person every week and the lessons being two hours rather than one. We do both, and we tell you after the first lesson roughly where you are.
The introductory lesson is two hours from your door: the controls on a quiet road in your instructor's area, moving off and stopping, and enough driving to see how you take to it. At the end you get a plan in the app: the twenty-seven DVSA syllabus topics with where you are on each, an honest estimate of hours to test standard, and what the next five lessons cover. From there lessons are two hours a week (or two a week if you want to go faster), each one logged against the syllabus with notes you can read back.
The theory test comes first and we help you prepare for it from lesson one with the guide on this website and the app the DVSA questions come from. When your instructor marks you at test standard across the syllabus and you have done a mock test with a different instructor, the practical test is booked at Llanishen or Llantrisant Road; the test-day car is £95 for the hour before and the test itself. If you pass, there is Pass Plus and a motorway lesson; if you do not, the examiner's sheet becomes the next plan and most people pass the second time.

Questions about beginners
Manual or automatic?
Both, at the same price. Two of our cars are manual and two automatic, and if you learn in an automatic your licence is automatic-only, which matters less than it used to. We will say honestly which suits you after the first lesson.
Can my parents take me out to practise?
Please. Private practice between lessons is the single biggest thing that cuts the hours. We give you and the supervising driver a sheet of what to practise after each lesson, and the car needs L plates and insurance for a learner.
