Prices

Every price, and every pass rate.

By the hour or by the block, manual or automatic at the same price, with the DVSA fees shown separately because they are paid to the DVSA. And underneath, the first-time pass rate by quarter against the national average, including the quarters we would rather not show.

Pass rates

First-time passes by quarter, against the national average.

Counted from DVSA results for every test our learners sat that quarter. "Overall" is the share who passed by the end of the quarter including retests. The national first-time figure is the DVSA's published rate for Great Britain.

The whole cost

What learning to drive actually costs, start to licence.

The average learner with us passes in 38 hours. In blocks that is about £1,330, plus the £60 introductory lesson, the £95 test day, the £23 theory test and the £62 practical test: around £1,570 all in, over three to six months. Someone who practises privately between lessons usually needs fewer hours and someone who has never been in a car may need more; the plan after the first lesson gives you your own estimate, and it is updated every week so there are no surprises in month four. The part nobody budgets for is the insurance afterwards, and we give every passer a sheet on that too.

  • Your own estimate of hours after the first lesson
  • Updated in the app every lesson
  • Private practice sheets to cut the hours

Book the introductory two hours. £60, from your door.

The controls on a quiet road, moving off and stopping, and enough driving to see how you take to it, with the instructor who covers your area. At the end you get a written plan and an honest estimate of the hours. Book with the form or ring the office, Monday to Saturday 8 to 7.
