What we collect, why, how long we keep it and how to ask us about it.
What we collect
When you use the booking form we collect your name, phone number, email address and postcode, what you want to book, where you are with driving, and anything you write. The form also records the time it was sent and your IP address, used only to block automated submissions.
When you learn with us we hold your provisional licence number and date of birth (needed to book the theory and practical tests on your behalf), your lesson records in the app (the syllabus progress, your instructor's notes, mock scores and test dates), payment records for blocks and lessons, the contact details of a parent or guardian if you are under eighteen, and any medical or learning-difference information you choose to tell us so lessons can be adjusted. Our cars carry dashcams recording the road and the cabin for safety and insurance; footage is overwritten after thirty days unless an incident requires it to be kept.
Why we use it
- To arrange and deliver lessons, keep your progress record, and book tests with the DVSA on your behalf (contract).
- To meet our obligations as DVSA-approved instructors and to our insurers (legal obligation and legitimate interest).
- To send lesson reminders and test-date changes by text and email (contract).
- To ask for a review after your test through an independent platform (legitimate interest).
How long we keep it
Booking enquiries that do not become lessons are deleted after six months. Learner records are kept for three years after your last lesson, then deleted; payment records for six years as HMRC requires; dashcam footage for thirty days unless an incident requires longer. You can ask for your lesson record to be exported to another instructor if you move.
Who sees it
Your instructor, the office, and the lesson app provider as a processor under its published terms. Beyond that, only the DVSA for test bookings, our insurer if there is an incident, the review platform (your email, once, after the test), and the police if footage is requested lawfully. The form is delivered by email to us; we do not use third-party marketing platforms and we never sell or share your details.
