Unvented cylinders, immersions, showers
Hot water and cylinders.
Unvented cylinders for houses with more than one bathroom, immersion heaters, thermostats and the pressure problems that go with them.

If two showers run at once and one goes cold, the answer is usually an unvented cylinder: mains-pressure hot water stored ready, so the second shower is as good as the first.
We install and service unvented cylinders (our engineers hold the required unvented qualification) and replace old vented copper cylinders, immersion heaters and thermostats. An unvented cylinder needs an annual check of its safety valves and expansion vessel; we do that as part of the boiler service.
We also sort low pressure, no pressure and noisy pipes, and fit pumps, pressure-reducing valves and expansion vessels where the system needs them.

Questions people ask
What is an unvented cylinder?
A sealed hot water tank fed straight from the mains, so hot water comes out at mains pressure instead of being pushed by a tank in the loft. Better showers, no loft tank, but it must be installed and serviced by a qualified engineer, which ours are.
