Sandwiches are made in front of you on bread that came out of a Bargoed oven at five that morning. Twelve fillings, seven breads, and any extras you like.
The bread comes from a family bakery in Bargoed: a thick-sliced white bloomer, a brown seeded loaf, soft floured baps, baguettes and ciabatta, and we keep flour tortillas and a gluten-free loaf. The fillings are made here each morning: the coronation chicken, the egg mayonnaise, the beef roasted on Mondays and the ham honey-roasted on Wednesdays.
Chicken, bacon and mayonnaise is the best seller, by a distance. The hot baguettes, chicken tikka, meatball marinara and the Bedwlwyn (steak, onions and cheese), come off the grill to order.

Questions about sandwiches and baguettes
Can I have half and half?
Yes, two halves with different fillings on any bread, priced as the dearer filling.
Is the gluten-free bread safe for coeliacs?
It is gluten-free bread, but it is cut and filled in a kitchen full of flour. We would not call it safe for a coeliac.
Do you do vegan sandwiches?
Falafel, hummus and roast peppers every day, and the rainbow bowl salad. Ask for no butter on any bread.
