£180 for up to sixteen here, £240 at your workplace, lunchtimes or after work

Corporate boxing workouts

A boxing workout for a team: an hour of pads, bags and partner drills for up to sixteen people of any fitness, here at the unit or at your workplace with the kit brought in a van. Laughing is normal. Nobody is hit and nobody is made to perform.

Corporate sessions started when a Newport accountancy firm booked us for a team afternoon and then kept booking. An hour of boxing is a good leveller: the managing director and the apprentice are equally bad at the hook to begin with, and equally pleased when they get it.

The hour runs like a class: a skipping and footwork warm-up, a technique round, rounds on the bags or on pads held by a partner, and a team finisher, all at two levels so nobody is left out. At the unit there are fourteen bags and space for sixteen; at your workplace we need a room or car park the size of two tennis courts and bring pads, gloves, wraps, mats and the bell in the van.

We send a health questionnaire beforehand for everyone taking part and read them, so anyone with an injury or a condition gets a version of each round that suits them. Regular weekly or fortnightly sessions are ten per cent off. We are insured for workplace sessions and send the certificate with the booking.

Questions about corporate

What if some of the team are not sporty?

That is most teams. The rounds are set so that someone who never exercises and someone who runs marathons both finish tired and nobody is on show.

Can you come to us?

Yes, anywhere within twenty miles of Newport, for £240. We need a clear space roughly the size of two tennis courts, indoors or out.

The first round is free. Twenty minutes on the pads.

Tell us what you are after and roughly when you can train, and we reply within the hour between rounds with a time: how to stand, a wrapped hand, the jab and cross, and an honest answer about where to start. No card details, and nobody hits you.
