Blaenavon and the valley
Home visits
The same test and the same care in your own armchair, or at the care home, within eight miles of Broad Street. Wednesdays, by arrangement.

The hill up from Forge Side is not for everyone, and neither is two buses. Every Wednesday we go out with a portable audiometer and a suction unit.
We cover Blaenavon, Garndiffaith, Abersychan, Varteg, Pontypool, Brynmawr and Nantyglo. A test at home is not quite as quiet as the booth, and we say so on your results if the fridge got in the way, but it is more than good enough to tell whether you need aids or wax out.
We also visit care homes in the area, where we see the same problem every week: a resident thought to be getting confused who just cannot hear, or aids in a drawer with flat batteries. Managers, ring us and we will arrange a morning.
What is included
- Portable test with printed results
- Wax removal if you need it
- Fitting and adjustment of aids at home
- A second visit free if you need help getting used to them
What it costs
A home hearing test is £30 to cover the travel. Wax removal at home is £85 for both ears. The prices page has everything on one sheet.
Questions about home visits
How far do you go?
Eight miles from Broad Street by the road. Further if we are already going that way: ask.
Can my daughter be there?
We would rather she were. Ring together if that is easier, or she can book it for you with your say-so.
Book a free hearing test.
An hour, no charge, no obligation. You see the results and you take them home. If it is wax, the next clinic is usually within the week.
