Render, masonry, windows, doors, fascias
Exterior painting
Rendered and pebbledash fronts, masonry, timber windows and doors, fascias and railings, painted from a proper tower in a dry spell with the prep that stops it flaking in two winters.

Exterior paint fails at the prep, not the topcoat. Paint over damp, dust or chalking masonry and it will be off by the second winter, whatever the tin cost.
Render and masonry are pressure-washed, treated for algae, left to dry, then stabilised where they chalk and filled where they crack. Then two coats of a breathable masonry paint, rolled and brushed, in a dry spell with the forecast watched. Pebbledash takes a long-pile roller and about twice the paint; we price for that rather than thin it.
Timber windows and doors are the part most firms rush. We rake out and re-putty failed glazing, cut out and splice rotten sills, sand to a key, prime bare timber, and finish in a flexible exterior gloss or satin. Fascias, soffits, bargeboards, gates and railings get the same treatment. Everything is done from a tower or a scaffold, not a wobbling ladder, which is in the price.

Questions about exteriors
When can exteriors be painted?
April to October, in a dry spell above about 8°C. We watch the forecast and will move a day rather than paint onto damp render.
