Privacy policy.

Short, because we collect very little.

What we collect

When you use the contact form, email, phone or WhatsApp us, or visit the workshop, we collect what you give us: your name, contact details, postcode, and whatever you tell us about your furniture, including photographs. We record the IP address a form was sent from, to deal with spam.

This website sets no cookies of its own and runs no analytics or advertising scripts. The map on the contact page is loaded from Google and is subject to Google's privacy policy once it loads; nothing is sent to Google until you scroll to it.

Why we use it

  • To reply to you, quote for the work and carry it out (our contract with you, or the steps you ask us to take before one).
  • To keep records of work done, for our five-year guarantee and for accounting (our legal obligation and legitimate interest).
  • To contact you about the job: collection dates, fabric arrivals, delivery.

We do not send marketing emails or newsletters, and we never sell or share your details for marketing.

Who sees it

The three of us in the workshop, our accountant for invoices, and our email provider, which stores our mail on servers in the UK or EU. Photographs of finished pieces appear on this website or our social media only with your permission, never with your name or address.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not become jobs are deleted after twelve months. Records of completed work are kept for six years after the job, which covers our guarantee and the period HMRC requires.

Your rights

You can ask to see what we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, or object to how we use it, by emailing hello@threadandframeupholstery.co.uk. We reply within a month. If you are unhappy with our answer you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
