Slipped slates, leaks, ridges, valleys, verges
Roof repairs
Slipped and cracked slates, leaking valleys, loose ridge tiles and crumbling verge mortar, found with the drone and fixed in one visit wherever the roof allows.

Most roofs do not need replacing; they need the one thing that has failed putting right before it takes the timber with it. A good repair on a sound roof will last as long as the roof.
We start with the drone, because a slipped slate you can see from the pavement usually has company you cannot. The flight takes ten minutes and the photographs go in your report, so when we say "three slates and a cracked ridge" you can count them yourself.
The repair itself is traditional: slates refixed with copper nails or stainless hooks rather than glue, ridges rebedded or dry-fixed, valleys cleared and relined in lead or GRP, verge mortar cut out and replaced. We carry slate, tile, ridge and lead on the van so most repairs are done on the first visit.
If the drone shows a roof at the end of its life we tell you, show you the photographs and quote both the repair and the replacement. Plenty of people choose the repair and get another five years; that is a fair choice when you know what you are choosing.

Questions about repairs
Can you match my old slates?
Usually. We keep reclaimed Welsh slate in several sizes and thicknesses, and new Welsh and Spanish slate for larger patches. A repair on the back slope does not need a perfect match; one on the front, above the door, does, and we say which we have.
Do you need scaffolding for a repair?
Not for most. Ladders and a roof ladder cover the majority of repairs; a tower goes up for chimney work and anything on a steep front slope over a pavement. If scaffold is needed it is in the price, not added later.
Get the roof looked at properly.
A free drone survey, a photo report you keep, and a fixed quote that includes the scaffold and the skip. Storm damage: ring the storm line, any hour.
