Re-roof

Full re-roof of our cottage in Welsh slate. Gethin flew the drone, sent us thirty photographs and a report, and the quote matched the final invoice to the pound. Nine days, two chimneys rebuilt, roof sheeted every night. Beautiful job.

Repair

Two other roofers quoted a full re-roof from the pavement. Lowri flew the drone and showed me it needed eleven slates and a new valley. £380. I will be using them for the real re-roof in a few years.

Flat roof

Extension roof in EPDM with a lantern. The old felt had been leaking at the lantern corners for two winters. Done in two days, not a drip since, and the warm-roof build-up has made the kitchen noticeably warmer.

Siân M.Pontyclun
Chimney

Chimney leak that three people had "fixed" with sealant. Jake took one look at the drone shot and said back gutter. Rebuilt the top of the stack while they were up there. Dry bedroom for the first time in six years.

Storm repair

Storm damage on a Sunday morning; they were here by one. Sheeted, photographed, report with the insurer by evening. Four stars only because the permanent repair took a fortnight to schedule after the storm, which they warned us about. Everyone was busy.

Claire W.Llantrisant
Fascias and gutters

Fascias and gutters. The last firm wanted to cap over the old timber; Ridgeline took it off and found two rotten rafter ends, which they photographed and spliced for a fair extra. Honest, tidy, a day.

About the four stars

Storm weeks are slow weeks for permanent repairs.

Claire's review is four stars because the permanent repair after a February gale took a fortnight to schedule. After a storm every roofer in the valleys is making roofs safe for days, and the permanent repairs queue behind that. We say so on the day and the roof is sheeted and dry in the meantime, but a fortnight is still a fortnight. The review stays up because it is true.
