Alongside your clinic

Fertility support

Some people want calm, regular time for themselves during treatment. Reviews have not shown that acupuncture clearly improves live birth rates, and we will not suggest it does.

Trying for a baby is hard, and there are a lot of people who will sell you hope. We are careful about this. Large reviews of acupuncture alongside IVF have not shown a clear improvement in live birth rates, and we will not tell you otherwise.

So why do people come? Mostly because it is an hour a week that is about them and not their results. They tell us they find it relaxing, and we think that is reason enough, if you can comfortably afford it. If you cannot, please spend the money on your treatment. We will not be offended.

If you have been trying for a year, or six months if you are thirty-five or over, please see your GP about tests. Tell your fertility clinic you are coming. We work around your treatment dates, and we avoid certain points during early pregnancy.

What is included

  • Sessions timed around your clinic's dates
  • Quiet, private appointments
  • No supplements, no tests and no promises
  • A plain conversation about when to stop

What it costs

A typical course is eight to twelve weekly sessions: £65 for the first and £48 for each after, so £401 to £593 in all. There is no block booking. You pay for each session, and we review at the fourth. The course page works it out with the evidence next to it.

Questions about fertility support

Will this help me get pregnant?

We cannot say that it will. The evidence does not show that clearly, and we will not take your money by implying it.

Can my partner come?

Yes. Men are welcome, as patients or for moral support.

Seventy-five minutes for £65. We ask what your doctor has said, tell you what the research says, and agree a stopping point before a single needle goes in.
