A quiet hour, and no promises
Cosmetic facial acupuncture
Fine needles in the face and scalp, a massage, and an hour of lying still. It is lovely if you like that sort of thing. The evidence that it changes your skin is thin.

There are a few small studies, and they mostly show people feeling happier about how they look. We have seen nothing to say it does what a good night's sleep and sunscreen would not.
People come for the hour. We cleanse your skin, massage your face and scalp with a plain oil, and place very fine needles in the face, scalp and body. You rest for twenty-five minutes. A tiny bruise on the face now and then is possible, so do not book it the day before a wedding.
We will not treat active skin infection or a face with very recent filler, and we are not the people for anything medical. For sun spots or changing moles, see your GP.
What is included
- A cleanse and face massage
- Fine facial and body needles
- Twenty-five minutes of rest
- Fragrance-free oil, or none if you prefer
What it costs
A cosmetic facial session is £70 for an hour. Most people have one or two a month, if they like it. There is no block booking. You pay for each session, and we review at the fourth. The course page works it out with the evidence next to it.
Questions about cosmetic facial
Will it make me look younger?
We do not claim it will. You may look more rested, because you will have rested.
Does it hurt?
Facial needles are finer, but your face has plenty of nerves. Tell us if a point is sharp and we will take it out.
Book a first appointment.
Seventy-five minutes for £65. We ask what your doctor has said, tell you what the research says, and agree a stopping point before a single needle goes in.
