Treatment

What we treat.

Osteopathy helps with a lot of aches, pains and injuries of the muscles, joints and spine. Each page says what we look at, what treatment involves, what it costs and when you need a doctor instead.

All six

Back and neck pain

The most common reason people see an osteopath: low back pain, a stiff or painful neck, pain into the buttock or leg, and the ache that comes back every few months. Hands-on treatment, an explanation, and exercises that help it stay away.

£58 for the first appointment of an hour, then £48

Sports injuries

Sprains, strains and overuse injuries from running, rugby, football, climbing and the gym: what is injured, how long it is likely to take, how to keep training around it, and a plan for getting back without doing it again.

£58 for the first appointment, then £48

Pregnancy and postnatal

Gentle osteopathy for the aches of pregnancy, including low back pain, pelvic girdle pain and rib pain, and for the strain of the months after birth: feeding posture, lifting, carrying and a body that has changed.

£58 for the first appointment, then £48

Work strain

Neck, shoulder, wrist and back pain from the way work makes you sit, drive, lift or stand: treated, explained, and with practical changes to the desk, the van seat or the lifting that stop it coming back.

£58 for the first appointment, then £48

Headaches and jaw pain

Help for headaches that come from the neck and shoulders, tension headaches, and jaw pain and clicking (temporomandibular problems), with treatment to the neck, jaw and upper back and advice on clenching, posture and sleep.

£58 for the first appointment, then £48

Gentle osteopathy for older patients

Unhurried, gentle treatment for older patients with stiff backs, sore hips and knees, arthritis and the aches that make walking, gardening or getting out of a chair harder than it should be. No manipulation unless you want it.

£58 for the first appointment, then £42 for over-65s

Honest limits

We will tell you if it is not for us.

Osteopathy is for mechanical problems of the muscles, joints and spine. It does not cure arthritis, fix discs, treat infections or replace your GP. Every first appointment includes screening for the signs that need a doctor, a scan or an ambulance instead, and if we find them, we say so and help you get there, with a letter if it is useful.

Book an appointment, or ask first.

The first appointment is an hour and £58: questions and examination before any treatment, an honest view of whether osteopathy is the right thing, and a plan in plain words. Book a slot from the diary or ring the clinic.
