Twenty-four heated rooms in the old cowshed, six doubles
The suites
The cowshed was rebuilt in 2015 as twenty-four suites: underfloor heating, a raised orthopaedic bed, a window at dog height, a covered private run, and a door that closes at night. Six are doubles with two beds for dogs from the same home.

A kennel is a run and a bed. A suite is a room: warm underfoot in January, a window the dog can see out of, a covered run of its own so it can go out in the rain, and a solid door at night so the collie three doors down is not the last thing it hears. We rebuilt the cowshed that way because it is what we would want for ours.
Each suite is 2.4 by 3 metres inside with a 2.4 by 4 metre covered run, underfloor heating set to eighteen degrees in winter and a fan in summer, a raised memory-foam bed with a washable cover, and a window at dog height onto the yard or the paddocks. You are welcome to bring their own bed and blanket from home; most people do. The doors are solid timber with a glass panel so the night staff can look in without opening them.
The six double suites are 2.4 by 4.5 with two beds, for two dogs from the same household who are used to each other; a double for two dogs is cheaper than two singles. Dogs from different homes are never kennelled together. The suites are cleaned and the runs hosed every morning while the dogs are out in the paddock, and deep-cleaned between stays.

Questions about the suites
Can I see the suites before I book?
Yes, and we would rather you did. Viewings are on Saturday mornings between eleven and one without an appointment, or any other time by arrangement. Bring the dog; a sniff round the yard makes the first stay easier.
Will my two dogs be together?
If they live together and you want them to be, yes, in a double suite with two beds. If one of them would rather have their own room, say so; some pairs sleep better apart and walk together.
Is it noisy?
Less than you expect. Solid doors, the paddock walks that tire them, and a radio on low in the corridor. The first night is the loud one for most dogs; by the second they have the routine.
